Marsha C. Senior

Marsha Senior PortraitA native of Evanston, Illinois, Marsha has lived in Syracuse since 1982 and worked in higher education for over 35 years. Before joining Syracuse University in 1986, she was a counselor with the Upward Bound Program at LeMoyne College.

At Syracuse University, Marsha was an academic advisor to undergraduate students in the Office of Supportive Services. While there, she provided comprehensive services to students across two opportunity programs: the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) and Student Support Services (SSS).

In 2001, she briefly left the University to take a position as Assistant Director of Student Services at Upstate Medical University. She returned to Syracuse University and has been working with part-time, post-traditional students at the College of Professional Studies since 2003. In 2016, she became the Director of HEOP and Assistant Director of Student Administrative Services at University College.

Marsha previously served on the College of Professional Studies Diversity and Inclusion Committee and was a member of the Chancellor’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion. She currently serves as an advisor to the Black Celestial Choral Ensemble (BCCE) on the Syracuse University campus.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Marsha earned a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice. She is a Certified Coach Practitioner.
