Offered under the auspices of The College of Arts and Sciences, Syracuse University’s founding college, the degree provides a sound general education in the liberal arts by combining coursework in the humanities, the natural and social sciences, and mathematics while learn from Syracuse University’s renowned faculty as you gain a sound general education in the liberal arts.
Our part-time program is designed for lifelong learners who wish to experience a Syracuse University undergraduate education but have other commitments or are unable to relocate. The flexible format allows you to complete most work on your own time throughout the week, with weekly live class sessions to meet with your peers and professor to discuss and expand on course content.
Liberal Arts Degree Requirements
You must complete a minimum of 60 credits for the degree, meeting the specific requirements of the curriculum detailed in the table below. Up to 30 credits may be transferred from other institutions. You can work with our admissions team to review potential transfer credit.
You may complete the A.A. degree online with interactive live sessions or with a mix of on-campus, online, and a variety of other flexible course formats.
Because the average course load is six to nine credits per semester, you could conceivably complete the degree in three to four years, if you enroll on a regular basis. You must achieve a minimum 2.0 average to graduate from the program.
