Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):
The FAFSA must be completed each academic year (an academic year at Syracuse University is defined as fall, spring, and summer terms). Online access to the FAFSA application process begins October 1 each calendar year and is available for 20 months. The FAFSA covers the following new academic year for fall, spring and subsequent summer of the academic year. Please refer to the Financial Aid deadlines for recommended filing deadlines based on the term in which you intend to enroll.
New York State’s “Get on Your Feet” Loan Forgiveness Program
The New York State Get on Your Feet Loan Forgiveness Program provides up to 24 months of federal student loan debt relief to recent New York State college graduates who are participating in a federal income-driven repayment plan whose payments are generally capped at 10 percent of their discretionary income and was established for the purpose of alleviating the burden of federal student loan debt for NYS college graduates. William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program
First time loan recipients must complete a loan entrance interview at this site before the initial loan will be processed. Loan funds will NOT arrive until both the entrance interview and Master Promissory Note are completed.
