Distant Drums Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Madison County Native American artist Douglas Sky Jones and his wife Mickey and is awarded to qualified students who have completed 24 college credits (sophomore standing), who are matriculated in a degree program at Syracuse University through the College of Professional Studies, and have a grade point average of 2.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale. Scholarship amounts vary annually, depending on the income generated by the endowment and by the number of students who are eligible.

Who is Eligible?

Native American adults (preferably of the Iroquois Nation) who are enrolled as part-time students at the College of Professional Studies.

Application Information

A scholarship winner is eligible for selection until they graduate. Qualified students are selected and notified by the College of Professional Studies Scholarship Committee.
