Ten alumni from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) have been hired over the last two years to fill positions as videographers, video editors and graphic designers in University College’s Center for Online and Digital Learning. “We are very fortunate to have access to such high caliber graduates from the exceptional film and illustrative design programs right here on campus,” says CODL Director Eileen Julian. UC Dean Mike Frasciello appointed to UPCEA Board
Michael Frasciello, Ph.D., has been appointed to the board of directors of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA). UPCEA is the largest non-profit association for professional, continuing, and online higher education.
Established in 1915, the association has more than 400 member institutions. Syracuse University has been active in the association since its founding. The association focuses on online and continuing education through professional development and publications.
Frasciello joined Syracuse University in 2000 to provide campus-wide leadership in support of Syracuse University undergraduate and graduate online and continuing education initiatives. In 2016, he was named interim dean of University College, and appointed dean in 2017.
Frasciello served for 10 years in the United States Air Force. He holds a Ph.D. in composition and rhetoric from Syracuse University, a master’s degree from Westminster College, and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland University College.
