
JoAnne Wallingford brings a blend of academic expertise, professional experience, and personal passion to her role as a Bachelor of Professional Studies instructor at Syracuse University.
JoAnne earned her B.S. in Business Administration with a major in accounting and a minor in management information systems from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She later completed both her M.S. in Information Resource Management (1995) and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Data Science (2015) from Syracuse University’s iSchool.
Since 1987, JoAnne has held diverse roles across the higher education landscape, including staff and managerial accountant positions at Syracuse University (SU) and Northern Arizona University (NAU); systems developer, project manager, and director roles at SU, NAU, and the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI); and faculty appointments as a tenured professor at UMPI and adjunct professor at SU. Her career reflects a deep commitment to integrating technology, management, and education.
JoAnne is honored to contribute her project management expertise to the College of Professional Studies, where she thrives on sharing real-world insights and fostering student growth.
Outside the classroom, JoAnne enjoys spending time with family, gardening, playing volleyball and pickleball, hiking in the Southwest, swimming, SCUBA diving as a certified Advanced Open Water diver, and downhill skiing.
